Which is a better setup? The detoursUSA winch mounting or a bumper setup (ARB Type)? What are the positives and negatives of each? |

Depends on the looks you want. Detours keeps your front bumper the same. ARB radically changes the appearance. Also, the Detours Backbone is half the price. The ARB hides the winch a little bit. The backbone has the winch just floating there. Both are quite functional. Another thing is that the ARB is indestructible. Many stories on here how it saved the front end of the Jeep in accidents. Enjoy! |

Plus I can say from personal experience the ARB has saved me on a couple of occasions with zero or nearly zero damage to me or my KJ. Nearly zero being a scratch here or there, lol. Seriously, I would put one on every one of my vehicles. |

How much more spring rate will I have to have when I go with either setup? |

I would think the Detour option will do fine with your current setup as it is a steel plate, hardware and winch of your choice. ARB is HEAVY, spring rate may not need to change but you will need room to level out the lift with spacers.... OME HD in the front with Medium in the back might work? |
