So I went off roading over the weekend down to Rampart and got a little crazy. I had my sway bar disconnects off and the bar dropped down too low. I apparently caught some air and managed to bend the bar on the driver's side. Now, every time I turn left, it clunks really badly. I think it is hitting the clevis. Regardless, I don't believe I will be able to bend it back and the local stealership wants $140 for a new one. I have searched around for the part 52088660AA and cannot seem to find it at any of the usual places. Anyone have an idea of where I could get this cheaply? Thanks! -Rob

Have you tried local junkyards for a KJ? might be the cheapest way to go.

Nope, it wasn't just the links, it was the entire sway bar. I got one from a shop in CA for $70. Turns out eBay calls them stabilizer bars and I could have had one for ~$40. At any rate, apparently my sway bar had been bent for a while since the new one seems to have greatly helped with tire rubbing, alignment and some other mystery sounds up front. I also picked up the Daystar poly bushings while I was at it. Much quieter and seems to handle a bit better, about $30 better I think... ;)

there's really no advantage to disconnecting the sway bar on a KJ... just sayin'

i agree. unless you enjoy excessive tire rub for minimal gains.

i tried disconnecting before. still couldnt make it over any obstacle i couldnt do with it connected. you want traction get a locker. :goink:

RED_KJ_666 is going SFA and probably getting rid of his, might be able to get it from him. i would check a junkyard. theres tons of Liberty's out there, im sure your local junkyard would have one.
