so i bought my crd about a year and a half ago and she had a ome lift on it and 245/75-16 and it is time for some new tires but i really would like to get 4 inch lift on there and some bigger tires and i was wondering what would be a fairly cheap way to get those couple of inches out of it but will not ride any different or what are some other good options???? or do i just need to get all new everything? and this truck get abused!!! i take it on some long off road trips so nothing to cheesy please!

Have to remember that you can not lift a CRD as high as a gasser due to the short CV on the left side.
4 inch lift? Lots of people throw numbers around but where are you sitting now , from middle of wheel to bottom of fender?
I suggest asking TonyCRD what he has done and how its working for him, I know he keeps trying new things to try and get up a little more.
JL Rockies also is running a 32 inch tire, so get with him and see what lift he has and how it works
Not knowing what springs you have 927s or 790s if anything else was added at the time its hard to say what will work next.

Always had to laugh at Tony when he was over here trying to step up into mine when he was used to his slightly less lifted CRD! :ROTFL:

SFA or a custom real IFS is the only way youre going to get what you want.

And neather are cheap, expect about $10,000 if you can do all the work, twice as much for someone else to do it.

Don't go cheap, always ends up bad.If they still were around a few former members would be great expamples of this but would not admit it,wonder why there SFA KJ's have been bought and sold many times.

No US distributers anymore(from what I heard),no sure if they went under or not.Last one was Rusty's and they had to practically give them away to sell the last few they had.

On a gasser you can go from 19-19.5 stock to 23 or so pretty easy,
with a CRD you are at about the max if not the max height even with cut CVs .
Good tires, good skids and a good driver does as much for getting places as an extra inch of height
As far as mine I am running OME 790 front coils and using gasser Frankenlift parts, gives me the height and also the strength to haul the ARB etc.
So back to your original question, people are not using spacer lifts on top of OME coils, well some have but it does not work well if you DD or off road

Hiya, you are probably on 790's already. 22" on the front is pretty cool for a CRD.

You can fit the 4" JBA adjust-a-strut lift to it but you must add a limiter strap to the left LCA or you'll blow your halve shaft.

Tony, do you have a photo of the installed limiting strap? I'm dreaming one up now of troubleshooting a clunk.

Hi Tony,
Do you have diagram on how to build the strap? I have lifted my KJ and are now sitting at 22inc at the front ( I know it will settle) , but to avoid blowing half shafts I would like to fit them.
Tks
Fil

No diagram or measurments since this isn't mine.

You can see they welded 2 pieces of U beam to the chasis / lca and that was that..
