I have recently decided that I am most likely going to be upgrading the bumpers on my 2004 Jeep Liberty alongside some rather urgent body work elsewhere on my vehicle.

I was wondering who the current crop of bumper producers were.

I am currently most interested in Rock Lizard, providing that he is still producing bumpers, but would still like to see what other options exist.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Also, how does adding after market bumpers effect the gas mileage?

I never noticed any difference in mileage
if nothing else adding a couple of hundred pounds ( front ARB, rear Rock Lizard ) it now rolls down hill much easier :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

My point is that Rock Lizard seems to have taken a break some time ago. Also, there have been people who have paid for orders who cant seem to get ahold of them. Al least that's what those specific people have said.

Funny as I get PMs from him ( Marty at Rock Lizard) quite often and got my rear bumper a couple of months ago
Boiler made one rear bumper
Nothing against Boiler

Im not comparing them. I'm just saying I remember him taking an high-aye-tus and not hearing that he's come back to offer product.

Thanks, I have sent Rocklizard an e-mail, but since it is a holiday weekend, I expect to wait a while for a response.

What does this Boiler bumper look like? I tried searching and didn't find anything.

Also, what do you all suggest for coating the bumper?

The best rear bumper, hands down, is Rock Lizard's bumper. It's been fully tested and comes with an optional swing out tire carrier and gas can carrier. Since you're here in New Mexico, I’ll let you look at mine once I get it painted and installed. I'm in albuquerque at least once a month. And if you’re interested in a RL front bumper, then let me know. I might be able to pick it up for you when I go up to Colorado Springs.

Why let facts get in the way of a good story? I agree that the RL is the best option conceived by mankind for a KJ. The other option is too aluminumy for my tastes.
