Got the notorious clank, rattle, squeak from the rear cv on the front driveshaft, gonna replace it.
When I was removing the driveshaft and undoing the bolts on the front cv joint, several ounces of fluid drained out of the bolt holes. Also, the bolts had what looks like silicone or sealer on them.
I looked in the cup the cv fits into, no leaks there, it was dry.
Question is, i have looked all over, is the front cv supposed to get fluid in it?

The front CV is filled with grease, it is possible that oil can separate from the grease and leak to the bolt area. Still I'd check the boot for possible holes. The stuff you see on the threads is thread locker.
