Stupid chick started to make a right turn and then decided it would better to make it a U turn instead. I totally missed her, but she almost broad sided the Jeep. Problem is I could not stop before I could turn straight again and I popped a tree with my ARB. Dented the bumper, but no other damage to the KJ. |

Did you get her plate number?... Perhaps you can file a complaint with the police and have her insurance buy you a new bumper or pay for repairs. I'd try hammer out the dents the best I could, or take it to a body shop. Maybe they can replace some of the metal with new sheets, weld it in. Then Rhinoline it to cover any welds etc etc. But if it's really twisted and bent... I dunno. |

Post some pictures man! I have never seen a damaged ARB before. I would think you can pound the living crap out of it and then paint it again. |

I'm sure you could track her down through the previous owner. Then call the police. It would serve her right... argh!. I hate to say it, but too bad you didn't T-Bone her. |

Well, she gave me a fake name too, and it seems the plates are not from a Toyota mini van. The insurance company I was given is working with the previous owner to help me track her down. We'll see. I was going to Rhino line the thing anyway, but I'm pissed I tried to be a nice guy and got screwed for it. From now on, I'm an f'ing ( * ). Life is better that way! |

I never give anybody a break on this stuff, I work too hard for my money to piss it away on someone else's mistakes. I almost got burned until I looked at the guy's plate and noticed that his plates were clean with new bolts, and the car was a filthy old fiesta! Light came on and I called the cops quick, then he tried to run as soon as I turned away... I still had to pay to fix my own Jeep, but he want to jail because the fiesta was stolen, plates were stolen off of another vehicle, then he had no license! |

Do you have uninsured motorist insurance? It is mandatory in Oregon and it does not go against you if you make a claim using the UM part of the policy. |

If you're gonna have uninsured motorists coverage, I STRONGLY SUGGEST to get underinsured motorists as well.......i'm having this problem now......lady had insurance but not enough. I had uninsured motorists coverage on my bike, but not underinsured, and now i'm suffering from it. ![]() |

Oh I see, that does suck. In Oregon it is all under the same clause thingy. Uninsured, underinsured is one type of coverage.....and it is mandatory. |

One interesting thing about this, the chick was pretty hot in a sleezy kind of way and had a nice rack without the croos your heart support if you know what I mean. Did I meantion it was cold and damp as well! |

i would still get her to pay for a new ARB even if you are just going to fix it yourself...use the money to get a locker for the rear or a basket for the roof or whatever else you can come up with. |

ChemGuy, How long you been in TEXAS? I always get out with a camera around here man. I keep a camera in the glove box. I've had a few stunts pulled on Me or the family. Heck, One time when my son was selling his blazer, He learned the hard way to always be in the vehicle during a test drive. I retrieved it 20 miles away and 7 hours later in a bar. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Be glad the Ins Co is helping you, the Cops ain't gonna do nothing. Usually if you do find them they ain't got nothin anyway. These folks are bred to skirt the system. Call the "registered" owner (Scam too) and tell them you are from "Wayne Wright" and you are going to sue...Because you can. If he sold the vehicle he should have sent in that piece you tear off the title with $5 to Austin to absolve himself. My cuz got hit last week in SA TX, the guy took off, the cop said "what do you want me to do about it?" It sucks. Nothing wrong with being a nice guy man, they really don't finish last. She probably got pumped last night by someone with HIV - Game Over Stuff like that sours your outlook on Mankind though. Goodluck with it. |

I second that one . . . a disposable camera sealed in the Glove box . . . seems like not a big deal, but it can be a life saver when you need it. the1jferg wrote: It sucks.
