Hello everyone,

I am not new to jeeps (04 Freedom GC), but I am new to modding jeeps. I have been doing ALOT of searching this site and looking at lift pictures of JKs to see what I would like to have my KJ look. Below is a list of the mods and lift ideas I have collected. Please let me know what you think. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. I want to make sure I am ordering the correct items BEFORE I order them.

Most of the items below I was going to order through JBA since I live in PA and hope to save some $$ on shipping costs. (live 1.5 hours away) Are their prices fair? or are there other companies that I would do better with pricing?

ARB front bumper.
!adjusted below list!
Lift kit plan:
FRONT
OME 927 springs with OME NS131 struts
3/8" top spacer
3/8' clevis lift
3" Tereflex bumpstops
GEN4.5 JBA A ARMS
REAR
OME 948 springs with OME N132L shocks
2 (1/2) ISOLATORS PER SIDE
Daystar rear bumpstops

WHEELS/
black moabs 16-8
265/70/16 Guard Dog M/T

OK Am I missing anything? Will this lift max me out as far as heighth without messing with the CV joints? From what I can tell that is around 22.5-23.5"?
The Jeep will be mainly used for daily on road driving with the occasional camping trips and weekend off roading.

I have about 4k to spend on everything so please let me know what your thoughts and suggestions would be.

Here is a pic of the jeep as she sits now.

ARB front bumper.

Lift kit plan:
FRONT
OME 790 springs front with only the ARB/no winch will be very firm
with OME NS131 struts
3/8" top spacer
3/8' clevis lift
3" Tereflex bumpstops
GEN4.5 JBA A ARMS
REAR
OME 948 springs with OME N132L shocks
2 1/2 ISOLATORS PER SIDE 2 1/2 per side???? add two uppers per side, can't add 1/2
Daystar rear bumpstops 2 hockey pucks per side is cheaper and work just as well or better

WHEELS/TIRES
Cragar V-5 16-8 16X8 what backspacing????if going 16X8 you need 5 inches of backspacing 16 X7 4 inch backspacing works best
265/70/16 Guard Dog M/T
1.25 spacer for a wider stance. if going 16X8 don't need nor want a spacer plus if you are buying wheels get the right backspacing and no spacers, waste of $$$$

OK Am I missing anything? Will this lift max me out as far as heighth without messing with the CV joints? From what I can tell that is around 22.5-23.5"? will be about 22.75

I just added in to your post what I thought works best
like mentioned without a winch the ride will be "very" firm in the front
I ran with a ARB for 100,000 on my first OME lift and 927 springs just a thought
790s do not give you more lift only hold more weight over 927s

Tom,

The v5 only come in 4.5" of bs. Will that work? I will go with the 927 for the front till i get a winch? Everything else look correct? Any suggestions?

Thank you

with 4.5 inches of backspacing then I'd really go with 7 inch wide, its going to set the tires out to almost the edge of the fender but not enough to cause problems. For example Moabs are 8 inches wide with 5 inches of back spacing and I did rub on the rear fenders a lot when stuffed and that was way back when I had 255-70s on. With 265-70 Guard Dogs it will be even more so since they run taller than normal and more aggressive tread.

Well that stinks Tom,
I really liked those :( There was a guy on another forum trying to sell a set of black moabs, might have to just get those then. Is that the max setup on a stock CV? or can I improve?
As far as the isolators for the rear what I meant to say was 2 (1/2" in thick) per side. That is what JBA lists. Are they correct?

For the front spacer I am assuming I would want to go with the 3/8" from Boiler? I have the big pieces pagged just want to make sure I get all the correct spacers and and plates.

Thanks again for your help :) Maybe I should take a ride to OH for the install :) As is I am going to take a long weekend and my uncle and I are going to give it a shot. It is basic mechanical, take your time....should be good to go :)

Come on over ' we're redoing a lift I did back 2 or 3 years ago in a couple of weeks. He thinks he needs to lift it more now
22.5-23 is about where you want to be , its a safe range without problems I try to get all that I do about 22.5
You can run the 265-70s on a 7 inch wheel
heres what a Moab looks like as far as sitting in the rear fender ( with 265-75s
Image

heres one with 265-70s sitting on the Moabs kind of give you an idea

Yes that is correct sorry I misunderstood

Boilers are 3/8 inch yes so you'll get 3/4 of an inch lift, JBAs are 1/4 inch

Come on over, its a simple job really just removing and replacing, my first lift on mine took me about 3 hours now I tear it down just for something to do for an hour :ROTFL:

Thanks Tom,

Meet me half way and we will just do it along the side of the turnpike :)

No reason I can't do it myself. There is enough materials on here to guide me through anything I may find :)

You'll be fine, if not call me, I've talked a few others through the tight spots before :ROTFL:
As far as meeting along the highway never did that but did install a Frankenlift in a college parking lot

Its not any harder than installing the lift, pretty straight forward, I have a pdf of the instructions if you'd like to look them over
