Does anyone know about this product? It is on sale at a huge reduced price and they make it for the Liberty but they say only for 2002-2003 models. What differences are there between the those two years and a 2004, as far as this area is concerned?

Here is a cheaper way...still as useless as the "fast & the furious" waste of money rice rocket version.

My opinion is if you have that much money to spend on this kind of set-up, and it's what you really want for your jeep, get the K&N off ebay. I see them on there all the time for $185-$200. I think K&N is a higher quality product.

My only issue with the K&N is the amount of debris it lets in...i saw a test somewhere where someone took seven filters to an industrial third party tester...the K&N was consistently horrible, except for airflow, and the AFE scored average or better, i think the ACDelco was what filter best though, i'll have to see if i can find that test somewhere...

IMHO, if you're looking for a decent performance gain, but you still want to be able to safely go offroad, i'd try to find a smooth pipe that you can throw in between the stock airbox and the throttle body, preferably one that eliminates that stupid silencer box...anyone seen on of these around, i'm looking for one too :D

I wasn't planning on buying it. Just wanted to build my knowledge base for a possible future purchase, if the bug ever bit me. Obviously not good if you plan to hit a lot of water. The stock system is better. Waiting for future snorkels.

Great, now i got him all excited...i hope i get a free/discounted one for giving you the idea...

As far as snorkels go, any snorkel is going to be made with the factory air box in mind, so if you only change the piping, than it's very likely that any snorkels that do come out won't force you to do a complete re-think of your intake system...

kkkustom,

Here is what I was thinking. Use a snorkel but still use the K&N/AFE air filters but create a sealed container for them so water doesn't get in. This way, you can still get some performance/gas mileage boost and not get water into the system.

Am I close to your idea?

well, that would work to, and will probably be a good system when we finally get our snorkels, but for right now i just want to get the stock tubing out of the truck, everything from the airbox back, not including the box itself...that would stay, along with the stock filter...basically just a tube from the air box to the throttle body...something simple...and cheap

wow, totally falling asleep, thought that was kkkustom posting, wow...that's sad..anyway, now i've elaborated a little bit haha

I have the full AFE system with chip, Airraid TBS, and Magnaflow wideopen muffler. No regrets here.

Wow, that looks like a really good idea. Nice find. Time to talk the wife into it.
