| Post subject: | Rockfather Install Clearance Issue |
I am trying to install my recently assembled RRO Rockfather front struts on my '05 CRD KJ but am having an issue getting the strut to clear the CV joint. I've attempted to use spring compressors to shorten the assembly but the compressors get in the way (the bolts are too long and run into the strut plate). Admittedly this is my first time installing suspension components so I may be doing some simple thing wrong. Can anyone offer some advice on how to get the longer strut to clear the CV? |

Which kit did you buy from them? Not sure and did you let them know it was going on a CRD? You can't lift a CRD as high as a gasser so if the wrong lift then there can be part of the problem Also the CRD of course has the front diff closer to the drivers side which has a shorter CV on that side resulting in being hard to get the lift on. IF it is the right kit them wrap the CV boot with heavy rags and use rachet straps one per side on the clevis to pull it over into place. Good luck with using RRO |
