Daystar Ordered today CRD install

Post subject:  Daystar Ordered today CRD install
First question, is there a need for the daystar kit with the swaybar bushings and the boots? I ordered the one with out, still comes with the spacers and the strut plates. I havent found any install write-ups just for the daystar with pics or anything, so I think I will document it all and write one up for future newbies that want to know how. I have read all the posts on the install that I can find and I dont see it being that big of a deal, Ive done lifts and lowering kits before. I couldnt get this kit from All J, they were out and I need it by this friday for the install, so I called up 4wheel parts and they had it and matched the price the All J had them for and also over nighted it all coming out to about $290 shipped. little more than I really wanted to have to spend right now but I WANT IT. LOL

NEWays I'll make sure to take some good pics of the install and write up a complete review as best I can. Now maybe the 245's will be more happy. :P

Naw, you don't need new bushings on it.
Did you order some extended rear shocks though?

not YET, but its in the very near future, like next paycheck. I was thinking Ranchos but IF I can make the money fly right maybe get OME

Get the ranchos the OME's are only about 1/2" longer than the stock shocks

Good info, How much longer are the Rancheros? I understood that the Rancheros were a bit more mushy than stock and the OME? I do alot more highway driving than off-road, and articulation is not a necessary thing in Florida where it is very flat and sandy. Any insight on this?

Well my Ranchos are only about 2" longer than the stock shocks at the most. And personally...the on-road ride quality is MUCH better with the factory shocks than it is with the Ranchos. If you aren't going to be flexing your KJ any, stick with your factory shocks IMO.

Thanks thats kinda what Ive been reading, mostly from you though...

Not that I wouldnt flex it, but theres nothing to flex on around my area. its all flat lands and low areas with lots of water and mud. I think for now Ill stick to stock.

I love my ome shocks. They ride much better than stock, but to me softer on-road is better ride. I guess some people like the hard ride the stock shocks have? IDK. The ome's ride like a dream I think.

Gayden, I will let you drive my jeep on Friday. I have the Ranchos (not rancheros, those are at taco bell), and I am very happy with how they ride and flex.

Yeah that's a good idea. Drive some KJs with different shocks on them and see which one you like the best. My factory shocks ride a LOT softer than these Ranchos...and that is why I think they are the best choice for on-road travel. But to each their own..

Yeah I ment I want the cheesey bean burrito shocks and the choco-taco struts.....LOL

I have my money on hold for investing in a Bio-Diesel operation so I might not be buying much anymore. When we get out on the trail I guess ill see first hand how they feel. I would like to see the RANCHOS in action though...

I got the UPS update, its in FL now, will be at my house tomorrow.
