Hello, I'm Oliver from germany, and first I will apologies me for my bad englisch, but I hope you can understand me and my questions. In germany the liberty is not an often sold car, so I write here. I bought my liberty last year, and I just drove onroad. In the last month I'm more interested in offroad so I was in the alps and had a little offroad trip. I bought this car with some mod's. http://www.flickr.com/photos/68242593@N ... hotostream - a lift, but I don't know anything about it, no documentation only Spring Typ (Eibach 667044) - and tires 265/75 R16 My remarks after the trip: - if I drive offroad in some case the rear wheel rubs on the frontside. My questions: - What type of lift is it - is it possible to reduce the rubbing by some more lift? - what lift can you recommend - or is it better to drive e.g. 265/70 R16 to reduce rubbing? regards Oliver |

Not sure about availability but, an extra set of rear upper isolators would probably solve the tire rubbing problem. Do you have a Jeep dealer near you? |

It's the rubber plate that sits on top of your rear spring. Jack the body up, the springs almost fall out, and you slide extra isolators into the ones that are there, already. Then let the body back down, making sure the spring seats into the new pad and that all the pads seat where they should on the body. And yeah, any dealer should be able to get them. I think I paid about $11 U.S. for each one. You can add up to two extra per side, total of 3/side. |

Not necessary but, there are things you can do, if you don't like the stance after adding isolators or want more lift in the front. Search for "clevis spacers" and "conduit nuts" on this site to get some ideas. |

Hi Oli, First welcome to LOST!!! Second you can get be back isolators from Jeep in Germany at about 15€ eack, my suggestion is you go t0 a car scrapyard (Auto Schrottplatz) and see if you canget them cheaper. Thirdly I suggest you put some bump stops at the back to stop the axel coming up and your tyre rubbing against the tyre arch. Easy suggestion is to buy 2 Hockey puck (yes ice Hockey puck (Eishockey-Pucks) as bumpstops, this will stop the axel coming up and the tyres rubbing against the wheel arch. I will try and post pictures it will explain better. Forthly I think you only have 1.5 inc lift with Eisbach not enough room definately for 265/75r16 you need atleast 2.5 to 3 inc lift. Actually are you sure you don't have 265/70R16? Lastly are you a CRD or Pertol? it will make a diffrence. Fil |

Howdy poljot - Welcome to LOST - beautiful photos. If you're running 265/75/16's - that's as much as you can fit and keep the IFS the rear isn't rubbing because of not enough lift - it's rubbing because of too much lift - as you lift the rear it pulls the tire forward. if you want the rear to not rub - you need extended lower arms (the only company anyone's mentioned is out of business). for more clearance you might consider the 265/70/16. |

Welcome to LOST  You need bump stops to reduce the tire rubbing in the rear. It does look by the pic of the front spring, your springs are worn, look at how the cv shaft angle is going down and looks level in others. OME is the way to go when lifting our KJ's. The tires your running are on the large side for what our KJ's can handle correctly with out mods (enter the 4.10 debate) and proper suspension set up. Check out TomMudds, I think if I remember correctly, he is running that tire size and many mods to his to do it correctly. i tried looking up those eibach part numbers and didn't come up with much, eibach makes coils of varying lengths and what not - they do offer an actual lowering kit but beyond that if I'm not mistaken you have to piece relative coils together to do what you want for the most part there wasn't substantial variance with the eibach coils from what's already available as a "kit" for the liberty - I had looked at them a few times - they usually ranged between 300-400lb/in if you haven't already, one thing that will help people advise you is taking measurements from the center of the hub of the rim to the bottom lip of the fender flare front and rear it'll give them an idea of where you're at with your current lift |

@Pippobug definately I drive 265/75 R 16 Goodyear Wranger AT/R and it is a CRD. in the rear there are no mod's, in the front there are some plastics removed (front side of the Wheel). The problem is in my area there is no prof. Jeep Dealer I can trust,...there is only a dealer want's to sell new cars. And I'm not sure if my problem can solved in a normal garage with no jeep experience. I don't find anything about the Eibach Springs, and I'm sure it was not a Lift kit, it is Custom mod from the pre-owner. Oli |

Oli, What is you CRD 2.5 or 2.8? this will make the difference to & what year. To resolve your problem with the back axel, you can do the job by yourself to if you are any good with tool. But let go in order: 1) you need to find a scap yard (Auto Schrottplatz) and get 4 top isolators for a Cherokee (Liberty). 2) you need I would say at least 4 hockey puck (Eishockey-Pucks), I am sure you can find them on a German Ebay or at sport shop depanding where you live in Germany. 3) Also can you measure from the bottom of the fender to the center to the Wheel so that we can see roughly howmuch these springs have lifted your KJ. I will try tomorrow to take some pictre and post them for you to explain better what you need to do. First problem is you have very little lift if any Second is the fact that you have too large of a tire on there for the amount of lift Third, well for third you have two choices, lift it more or get smaller tires. If it was me I'd go for smaller tires, you'll gain back some power, fuel mileage and won't hit / rub etc Another case of someone trying to stuff 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound bag |

You are looking the have the following end result:   This will help avoid the tyres rubbing against the wheel arch and damaging the KJ. I will try to take some better photos later. This will help also if you decide to change tyres and go for some smaller ones but not the standard 235/70R16. Fil. |
