I cant seem to find what I'm looking for:

I want to get the oh-$H!T bar that mounts to the space between your passenger air bag and the glove compartment. I read the installation how-to, and I looked on Jeep OEM sites and mopar too, but I cant seem to find it. I was actually dissapointed when I got the jeep that it didn't have one. Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks. -Nate

Is there an installation how to? I was under the impression when looking it over that it was part of the whole dash, and is not removable. From what I remember, the grab bar and the two lowest, outside panels of the dash are built in and cannot be removed. You would have to replace the whole dash. I would be interested to see if there is an installation how to as I might be looking to uninstall mine. Please let me know. T

Thanks!

Dave

You have to register to see the images, but it's free and they have some other interesting projects on the site as well. If I can get some free time I plan on ordering one and installing it in my '03. Dave, if you wanna take yours out let me know and I'll swap you for my insert 8) Are you going to be in Tucson Sunday?

Thanks Corwyn...I was given some misinformation from Jeep about the feasibility of this. At one time I was thinking of switching interiors and was told that I would need a whole new dash do this when. They also said it wouldn't work because of the airbag sensor in the seat that is hooked up to the grab handle. Changing this would make the airbag sensor inoperable. Let me do some research and I'll let you know. I can't go this Sunday due to a Metrics presentation that I have to prepare for work. See the thread because I've added to it.

Thanks Corwyn!

Dave

Yeah my mom has an '05 and I know what you mean about the sensor/switch combo; I'm wondering if disconnecting the switch will completely de-activate the airbag or something worse. Let me know what you find out. I won't be at the meet either, so no worries.
