| Post subject: | K & N Air Filter Installed |
After reading as much as possible about the K & N air filter system for mileage and horsepower inprovement, I bought and installed one this weekend. I know, I know, don't go through deep water with it!! Having said all of that, I put it on the KJ. I also have a free-flowing exhaust installed so with the two parts working together, it sounds like it means business. My first road test had me grinning - It really does have a quicker throttle response with more "get off the line" startup horsepower. The top end seems better too. I am happy with my choice. Since I use my Jeep for a daily driver, I was looking for a little more freeway merging boost. Final piece to be installed will be some NGK double-platinum plugs. I will be watching for miles per gallon increases as well. |

I had my cold air and Flowmaster installed about the same time. The first time you punch it to get on the freeway...that sound is just beautiful! |

I put my muffler and Rustys air tube and K&N on within two days of one another and yep it sounds cool. I built own air box around the sides of the filter so I can go as deep as stock through water and still have the benefits of the K&N Yes I would show pics if I had them have to do that some day |

I will try this week end to fiqure out how to post pictures. Hard to believe that I have to use one of these things every day at work but still havent fiqured out how to do the picture posting thing. Of course you will laugh when I tell you what I made the air box out of. Had an old computer sitting in the garage, took the case off one day, nice heavy metal, not too many cuts later I had it made. Pic are better than words so......will post soon |
