I've had the replacement joint sitting on the counter in the garage for awhile know, the woody has been patiently waiting for me to get to it. Well, today I got a chance and jacked up the front of the jeep and slipped the front drive shaft out. pulled the old joint off (about 3 minutes to do)

Thats where it all went bad. I couldnt get the new CV to seat far enough on the shaft to get the retainer clip on, the joint really wouldn't flex like it should? Eventually I got the c clip on( the thing is all gobbed up with the molly B grease provided by this time........I tried to get the shaft back in the jeep and couldn't do it? decided to pull the transmission crossmember and it went right in. Now i'm trying to get the rear lined up on the transfer case and snugged up......can't do it, the joint doesn't feel like it is flexing and because of that I cant seat it to get the bolts in. ......all of a sudden it comes to me.........when I got the thing in the mail I was playing with it in the living room and decided to take it all apart and put it back together, obviously I did something wrong and that is why the joint is binding and I can't get it in.

Well, out of the jeep again, take the joint apart on the bench while it is full of molly b and put it together again so it will freely flex.
Now it all goes together in a minute, back in the jeep and what was initially about a 30 minute job took 2 hours. I'm sure there is a lesson in there somewhere but I can't see it?

Anyway it's good to go and was much cheaper than buying a whole new shaft.
Joe
