Well, as of now I run 265/70R16 Nitto Terra Grapplers. They are just at 32" high. I got sick of rubbing everytime I turn or flex so today I took the saw to my Libby again. If I lift a tire off the ground while flexing, then it just rubs the top of the other rear tire. As you can tell by the pictures it looks kinda rough for now. I'm gonna clean it up a little though and I'll post more pics nextweek. I know with certain lift pieces I can still get another 1 1/2" of lift. I'm only running a 2" lift now. So I think 33s are possible. I would deff regear however. Enjoy.....let the haters start hating lol :P

Now I gotta get some black steel wheels for my 33x12.50/17 Nitto Mud Grapplers  .....I have the tires waiting in the garage now I just need to get the wheels. Yes, I bought them wanting to run a 17" wheel.

People can grip and complain all they want. It's not their Jeep and have no so-say in what happens to it. This is YOUR Jeep and YOUR rules. Have fun with it and do what you want. Especially do things to the Jeep that will make you happy and better yourself off-roading. With that, I like the idea you have. Keep it up! Maybe I should start a thread on the stuff I did to my Jeep. :juggle: Anyways this is what a fenderless Liberty looks like. I really like the look and this is where KJ_WHEELER_2010 got the idea to do what he did.

Hate to burst your bubble but 265/70R16's are only 30.5" tall tires(range from 30.3"-30'7" depending on brand and rim width).Same height as 245/75R16's but wider by 7/8".

Pic below is 265/75R16 Trxus MT's which measure a true 31.9" on a 7" wide rim, just a slight trim to the fender flares where they rivit on inside the wheel well.May look like they are touching but a whole 1/4"+ all around minus the very front by the rock rail.

The specs on mine when I got them were at 31.9". Because I remember being worried about them fitting. I have been thinkin about triming my fenders for awhile.....just never got around to it. Found some 17" black steel wheels today with 4.25 backspacing.....those 33s are looking tempting as hell lol. I dont wanna put the money in regearing right now though since I might be moving to Tampa in a few months. We'll see what happens :JEEPIN:

I love hating on haters! Straight knuckle dragging haters need to shut their hole and keep it movin' when they see something they don't like and may they have binding cv's and worn uca's and bad front driveshafts!

Right off Nitto's website they state they measure 30.63" on a 8" rim. There only a "P" rated tire also.

265/75/16's BFG AT KO's on factory rims with 1.25 spacers

frankenlift with 1 extra rear isolator... no rubbing anywhere on bump stops.

if you have the same amount of lift i do on the rear... with your trimming.. you should be able to clear 33's. however you will need larger bump stops and *might* have to trim the door edge.

Yeah man with the amount of room I now have I really think I can get away with 33s. I do think I owuld have to trim some of the steel body however. But hey thats a small price to pay. darn I wanna do this!!! I'm leaving this weekend though and driving the Jeep to KY then FL for a 2week vacation. So I don't wanna through them on there and screw something up right before the trip. This will prolly be a project for this summer :JEEPIN:

With 33's, I would look at more than just clearance. Look at your gears, and of all things the CVs and the center section of your front end. 32's are about all I would trust on the front diff. If you do the 33's, it may look cool, but be careful wheeling it and save money in a Just in Case fund for a new front diff. also if you look to re-gear, I would put a detroit or other full carrier replacement locker in, as those "may" help the 30A survive, but I have seen locked ones explode too.

As already mentioned, your jeep try what you want, but with every stretch of capability you introduce risk of breakage.

As for the guy who likes to bust on "haters"... well, your choice to listen to advice or think you know it all... Thus the power of online... weak people will act strong :5SHOTS:

I plan on running a 265/75/R16 Cooper STT here soon when i get my rims finished. Which list out as a 32 by Coopers website. But right now i run a 245/70/R17 Cooper S/t which is a 30.45 and i get a slight rubbing on full stuff but i currently dont have any bumpstops in the rear. And as far as a lockers ARB or Yukon zip is about the only 2 choices i would do in the front. The sudden lock and unlock in the front end can acttually help blow it apart. While as i have heard from one of the greats on here there has never been a recorded case of and arb locked front differential blowing apart. Also with that much tire and wheel I would have to go with USAFCOP atleast get a re-gear.

Easy killer... do research... Lots of real bad reviews on the Youkon Zips!!!! look at yota forums. ARB has a video of them destroying one on youtube too, but I take that with a grain of salt though, as it is ARB's test and therir facility.... Just sayin'

Lots of good reviews for the Yukon grizzley locker though, don't know if it is available for the 30A though

I'd have thrown the 33's on and THEN started trimming anything that rubbed. You probably could have gotten away with less hacking... Good luck though

If you ever look at my threads with photos you will see that we ran 31's, 32's, and 33's on the Liberty. When we went to 33's, is when we finally blew the front diff housing up on a trail, and it finally gave as my girl was doing 70 on the highway. We only ran a 3.5'' lift and we did cut the fenders like blackwidow there. Also did some metal bending and cutting as well.

Because of all that we did the a CRD SFA lol. Which btw I should post up that its in its next stages of development and tweaks.

Yeah, when I get the 33s I'll deff regear to 4.10s and throw a rear locker in it while its apart. As far as the frontend, I was gonna run it until it exploded then uprade to the steel front axle from JBA. As far as CVs......I've seen some of the new rockcrawlers using IFS. I have found a few places that make a "heavyduty" shaft/CV joint and was gonna see if they could mill a set down for me.

I'd upgrade to the JBA steel diff 1st and regear to 4.56's for 33" tires.Check out RCV for custom CV axles, not cheap.Gotta think also those rock crawlers running IFS have more $$$ into that IFS then you KJ cost brand new.

darn man, I loved the way your Jeep looked but that is a HACK JOB! You should have waited until you got the 33s and trimmed where necessary. Yeah it's cool do cut your Jeep and what not, but why not at least make tasteful, even looking cuts? Clean it up some man.

I hope 33s work out for you, but I would recommend just putting on 265/75s. I want 255/85s more than I can even explain, but I know that will never work on this application without tons of money poured into the drivetrain and lots of trimming.

Yeah that was just some fast pictures after I got it done. Today I I coated the exposed metal with bedliner and cleaned the cuts up. I'll try and get some pictures up before I leave for Tampa Sat.
