LOST.......a front wheel last night. Knuckle came loose from the upper A arm because the nut worked its way loose. Just finished with the repairs and test drive and all seems well, but I will need to rplace the lower ball joint because the boot is torn to crap.

How did the nut work loose? did you put the cotter pin in? Did you do any other damage?

That does suck. Check you CV boot also.

The ball joint on the libby doesnt have a cotter pin Al. I figured you would know that?

Al,

I have the pin in on the drivers side, but apparently did not put it in on the passengers side. All is well save the lower ball joint, which will have to be replaced. Hard part is tracking the K3199 with a grease zerk down in a reasonable amount of time.

Hopefully I have eleminated all my bad Karma.
