Well I have put off buying the Steiger window regulator repair kits for my 04 Liberty-last time I checked they were on backorder. Now I just looked at the site again and they are now $100.00 each! I know the last time I looked they were about $40.00 each! So that has made up my mind-I will be taking the door panels off soon and will try to find a way to brace the rear windows up permanently-I never use them anyway-the regulators keep breaking when someone accidently pushes the wrong window button or if I accidently hit the window button when putting a cup in the console :(

I had to do this to one of my rear windows. Unplugged the electrical connector, slid the window up, and used a metal hose clamp around the central track right under the lift block. Hasn't budged in almost two years...MAYBE I'll replace it someday but nobody ever rides back there.

Thanks for the idea-that's exactly the type of fix I am looking for!

Currently I have two windows broken - Driver's Window and Right Rear.

Both have been ziptied at the base for over a year without problems.

I can't afford the Steiger kits at $100 a pop, so I just bought a kit for all 4 windows today off ebay for $120 (item # 330666778107)

The feedback from the kit left from previous buyers is positive, I'm hoping things will be all gravy for me too once it arrives.

There was one that I bought on amazon.com cheaper than the steiger. How much can a piece of metal and corkscrew be worth anyway.

Do you need the whole motor and assembly? I know amazon carries the bracket for $40. Im thinking if i should purchase that. I did the wire rigging method thing a couple of times now to fix the problem but need a permanent solution. Anyone else look into just getting the brackets?
