Help with Coil Rite install

He all, I my 06 CRD is in desperate need of attention in the rear suspension while towing. I purchased some Firestone Coil Rite #4146 and plan on doing an install.

This Libby is a daily driver so I would rather not start on the isntall and come across a problem that maybe somebody else has dealt with before asking a couple questions. Any help would be appreciated.

Can the install be done without removing the springs? How is the air line ran at the top of the bag without hitting the top spring perch? Any thing else I am missing?

You probably have to remove the bump stops and drill a hole through the upper spring perch and bump stop mounts. Then route the air line through the side of the perch via another hole, then in to the rear cargo area, probably behind the tail lights. Yes you would need to remove the springs to drill the hole.
You sure your not exceeding the vehicle's tow capacity? Maybe your springs and/or shocks are worn out.

The crd tow capacity is 5000 and personally that sounds very modest. I carry about 6000 l s including trailer with my yj. It doesnt struggle at all as far as power. The rear just dipps more than id like. I was told by the place i bought it that i didnt need to remove the spring but apparently that is wrong?

I always do searches before posting. That is what came with it but it was way more involved than what I was told. It's all easy work but thought there might be a faster way than removing the springs. Well, out to the garage for me...

Just did this mod. Yes, you need to remove the bump stops (just twist off). You can squeeze bags through springs but don't tell me you busted you knuckle in the process. This point is moot, you still have to remove the bump stops. Springs come out if you remove the shock first (isn't it due for replacement now that you think about it....).

Before you do all of this removing and stuffing, unclip the sensor on top of the rear axle ('05 has 1, 06 has 2) or else you will be sorry..

Nice at 5# pressure, 12-15 if loaded.

Just finished. Replaced the pads and bled the brakes while i was there. The shocks definitely need replaced. I removed the bump stops and found a hole centered on the bottom of the perch where the air line fed through. Drilled a hole on the sides of each side of the libby and routed the line. Pretty simple all in all. So only 5# is needed. I set them to 27# so i guess i will start lower and go up from there. Didnt notice the sensors you spoke about. What do they do and how will i tell if theyre broken?
