Guy's, can anyone tell me how the roof rails are attached to the roof ... any pics of the rails removed would be a massive help ??? so I can design a direct mount ..

I have my newly fabricated rack now (well pleased  ) but it would look SOOOO much better, and be stronger mounted straight to the roof rather than pirched ontop of cross members ontop of rails :?

Any help much appreciated as I'm itching to get it on there now :D , and my mate can make some mounts if I design them

Well, I offered the rack up onto the roof rail cross members yesterday just see how it looks, and TBH, it dosent look that bad being pirched up there as I thought it would ... ideally it could be a little lower, and mounted to the roof directly, but dosent look daft which is what I was afraid of :D so I think I'll go with it instead of messing around with removing the OE rails and making more brackets ... plus, this way, it can be taken off really easily if needed (but not stolen  )
