HI
1- fuel gauge goes empty while standby gear for 5min but goes to normal when shifting gear to reverse and drive again.
2- oil drops in air filter box
3- coolant level goes low everyday by 1L/day. I've replaced the radiator and checked pipes everything was fine with no signs of leakage. Coolant wont be lost during car operation just when I turn off the engine after 10 hours I see the coolant has been lost alittle, exhaust air is fine no sign of bad gasket. Seems like vapour is escaping

Mileage is 70,000
Any Ideas here??

#3... i'm calling bad head gasket(s). leaking gasket (such that it pressurizes the cooling system) will push out coolant during operation. then as the remainder cools it'll drain the reserve tank.

easy test... bring vehicle up to full operating temperature (your usual commute will do.) with engine running open hood and squeeze upper radiator hose (I recommend wearing thick gloves as it'll be hot.) if it's compliant you're fine. if it's hard as brick then you've got a bad head gasket or 2.

#2... probably normal. usually there's a vent tube from the valve cover to the intake box that applies vacuum to the crank case. the gasses drawn out are highly oil saturated. they can condense in the air box.

Thanks, I'll try to do you test, but don't you thing I should see bubbles inside the coolant tank? cause if coolant can escape through head gasket, it'll leave gas behind.

1 liter a day? Vaporizing that much doesn't seem plausible. I wouldn't rule out head leak unless you see coolant on the ground or your floorboard.

Actually, I can't see any leaks on the floor or under the hood. I'm afraid to process for changing the head gasket without point. Multiple examination should be applied but how? before spending some money...

I can't get the search function to work on this site, but I know there are several postings about checking for head leaks. One of the easiest would be to check for exhaust gasses in the reservoir, part stores might have the testing equipment. Basically, you put a special pressure cap on the reservoir that has a vial for liquid on top. You run the engine and the liquid in the vial will turn from blue to yellow if exhaust gasses are bubbling out.

You can also pull spark plugs and see if they are wet, do a compression test etc.

A head gasket is expensive, but the longer you go, the more wear you will have on the rest of the engine. So, you might want to take it to a reputable mechanic and pay him/her to do the test too.

Check your heater core & check your freeze plugs also. Have you checked to see if you may have coolant in your oil?
