Post subject:  front differential pinion seal

I have the front drive shaft off to rebuild the CV and I noticed that the front diff is leaking a little gear oil at the pinion.

Is changing this seal possible for a home mechanic? Or will I need all kinds of special tools and guages?

Thanks for any help.

You should be able to replace it at home yourself.
I have done it on other diffs in my driveway without
any real drama.

Thanks for the reply, it looks like I will need a few tools though. Some kind of pinion seal puller and installer and a spanner wrench for the flange.

Does anyone sell these tools all together in a "seal" kit? What brand would be good to buy?
