Post subject:  who has a prelowered KJ with a Skyjacker 2.5 " spring l
I was told that with the prelowered I would actually get 3.5" of lift ?

Now I learn that I will actually get 1.5 inch of lift because it is a prelowered KJ ?

I need to talk with someone who has real experience to figure this out .

When you change the springs, you get the same lift no matter if you are lowered or prelowed. Thats how the jeeps were lowered was by using shorter springs, so if you take that spring out and use a new one, the "lowered" spring is gone.

With spacers its different. You still have the "lowered" spring in there so you would still be 3.4in lower.

Ive also heard the skyjacker lift is to high for the front causing upper balljoint contact and such. You could make a bumpstop like the franken lift comes with to fix that I guess.

Actually, the Skyjacker comes with bump stops .

Why anyone would choose a skyjacker at this point is beyond me. It is almost the same price as the Frankenlift, but is far less tried and tested. I can see the logic behing doing a Rusty's lift becuase you can save money.

Go frankenlift, you won't be sorry.

With how much lift you gain from the Skyjacker kit, it works awsome for ARB users. I am really thinking about switching over to Skyjacker because my ARB is weighing down Rusty's kit.

Rusty's is known to sag bad with an ARB in the front. Your ARB will weigh down all springs, but arent the OME HD the strongest ones out there?

Correction to clarify for everyone: You get the same Resulting Height no matter if you are lowered or pre-lowered. The Lift Height is how much change there is between before and after. With a pre-lowered liberty, any spring-replacing lift will be 1" less than advertised (but your jeep will still be the same height as any other lifted jeep when it's done).

I would worry about the lift only being 1.5". The total height when you get done will be as high as you'll want to go without making other adjustments to correct for things like the CV joints. Jeepin Al has posted about what he needed to do with his jeep to get past the 3" lift (~2" with pre-lowered) barrier, and they are things that won't be included in a kit anytime soon.
