I think its time to replace the front hubs, have the whiring starting at about 35 mph. (tires non factor) Question is for those of you who have actually purchased and replaced them yourself. Should I go OEM,Timken,Detroit Axle? Any info on these replacement brands or perhaps others I'm leaving out. Thanks

I'd recommend SKF(mainly found at Napa),Timkin can be hit or miss these days on some bearings,MOOG seams okay as are National.Let's just say if you can buy both bearings for like $100(fleabay junk) buy 2 sets as you will need the other set within a year. |

I'm currently testing the cheapest rockauto unit-bearings to see what I get out of them. I think they were ~$50 each

I am looking at Timken, Centric, SKF, Moog / National and OEM. has anybody tried any of these? In SKF's ad they mentioned good for 100,000 miles. They will say anything in ads. I am also looking for a good source for the cam adjustment bolt kit for the lower control arm, the lower control arms, stabilizer links and 3 bearing bolts per side. Is it necessary to change the hub nut each time you remove it as I have been told? If so I need 4 of them also 12 mm caliper bolts 11 ft lbs. 21 mm Caliper bracket bolts 100 ft. lbs. 35 mm hub nut 100 ft lbs. 3 E-14 bearing bolts 96 ft. lbs. I haven't found a part number for the cam adjustment bolt kit yet Cam bolt 2 each 06507912aa, 06102252AA 2 NUT, Hex Flange Lock, 52088649AC 2 control arm BUSHING, Pivot 125 ft. lbs. 52088662AB 2 LINK, Sway Eliminator 4 06503088 3 J, T BOLT, Knuckle to Bearing 5 HUB AND BEARING, Brake 52128692AE 1 J, T Right 52128693AE 1 J, T Left |

I used SKF that I got from Pep Boys, replaced both back in October-November and still holding strong |

Tried 3 parts stores and none of them found any codes took it to a mechanic that was able to read codes. Found out the front wheel bearing were a little bad. which has been named one of the many causes of the lightening bolt light. Found out this Jeep previously had the lightening bolt issue. That time it was a broken wire on the left rear speed sensor Changing the front wheel bearings / hub assemblies with new speed sensors seems to have gotten rid of the lightening bolt. I used Timken front wheel bearings / hub assemblies from Rockauto.com Bad thing is the cam bolts are stuck in the lower control arm / LCA. The 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD is out of alignment. The front tires are cutting on the insides at only 4000 miles. Have to fix it before the tires are ruined. As always, any advice would be appreciated. If I have to replace the bushings, what are the best bushings to buy or the best LCA's to buy? |
