I am a new owner of an 2006 Liberty CRD, with 111,000 miles on it. I purchased it in Az. and I don't know to much history of it. I believe it was used for transportation on highway only. What I am looking for is any insight as to what I should do to keep this Liberty running good. I am aware of changing the timing belt, and the torque converter situation, but is there anything else that I should be aware of. In the early part of this decade, I had a Ford with the 7.3 in it that I did all of my mods to it myself, so, short of a complete rebuild, I could be capable of doing the work myself. This vehicle is registered in South Dakota, no annual inspections, Bruce

BD, welcome to LOST. You've joined the right place. I've found a wealth of support on this forum and I try to return the favor as much as I can. I would start with the NOOB GUIDE. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=54207 |

Biggest thing to keeping it running well is routine maintenance. Also get a GDE tune so you can eliminate the EGR. Check your boost hoses as well and also the intake hose from the air box to the inlet on the turbo. |

Also check on the Jeep CRD / E85 / Alternative Fuels: viewforum.php?f=119 Post on the Liberty CRD...Love that Torque!!! for specific CRD issues you're more likely to get a targeted response. and CRD TECH ONLY has the ideas and instructions to help guide you through. For instance I'm using the Engine Mounts - replacement walk through by thermoex. |
