Checking to see what kind of fluids everyones running in their transfer cases, diffs and transmission. I have been told to use the Mopar and stick with that or will have trouble with the transmission and diffs. Is this so? Also, I have a manual trans.

ATF+4 for the t case and a Synchromesh type fluid for the trans. Not to sound like a broken record, but amsoil has the cheapest price around for the synchromesh stuff. On of the KK guys just paid 25 bucks a quart for mopar stuff.. amsoil is 10.75 for a quart and RP is like 16.99 a qt around here

You have to make sure you use the AMSoil filters with the blinker fluid, otherwise there will not be enough flow.

Also have to make sure you change out your halogen fluid every 6 months

No. Who told you that bs?

My answers are obvious. Amsoil Full syns in Everything.

I have had great reports from everyone using the Amsoil synchromesh type fluid in their manual trans. (or any other Amsoil lube in any other application for that matter)

No. Who told you that bs?

My guess would be someone who worked for Mopar? :roll:

My answers;
Motor oil - Castrol full syn 5w30.
Tranny fluid- Castrol syn ATF+4
Differentials - Amsoil Severe Gear syn 75W110 in both.

Next time around I am going to use Amsoil 5w30 syn motor oil and ATF+4 (including their filters). Also, I am thinking it might be time to change the brake fluid & PS fluid. No one knows the last time or if it's ever been done? I will try the Amsoil stuff for that too.

Thanks for the replies. :D I have not yet changed my transmission fluid, nor have ever changed any trans fluid. So that should be interesting. Does the Amsoil have to be special ordered? I dont believe I have ever seen any at the Vato Zone(I say Vato Zone but generally any auto parts store), just the advertisements. I think that will be the route i go, and see what the fuss is all about. :lol:

PM sent.

You do have to order it but the process is as easy as telling me what you want or going online and clicking. Your order shows up on your doorstep in a few business days. No standing in line at vatozone. The only reason I visit Them is to dump my waste oil. :wink:

I use mobil1 for the stuff that's easy to get (75-90, engine oil) and I use amsoil for the stuff that's harder to get (synthetic ATF for tcase and synthetic MTF)
