So my right rear caliper locked up while driving yesterday. Started smoking and everything it was all kinds of fun haha. Today I changed both rear calipers and replaced the rotors and pads and I after bleeding the breaks I still have a little sponge in the pedal. Any ideas?

Also I know the rear calipers locking up is unfortunately common on the liberty but I was wondering if the fronts have any problems?

Probably still have air in the lines. Bleed them again.

I blead all the brakes again but had no luck. Still the same. I'm going to run over to a shop and have them pressure bleed the system.

Did you install the calipers right? Common for DIY'ers to put the wrong calipers on the wrong side. The bleeder screw must be on top,if there on the bottom you need to swap the calipers side to side then re-bleed.Can't bleed air out of them if the bleeder screw is on the bottom.

RE: bleeding the brake lines. Did you have a helper pump several times and then hold while you then let fluid squirt out ?
I do them in order of right rear, left rear, right front and lastly left front.

BTW, why is it that Liiberty rear shoes wear so much faster?

i replaced both my front lines since each had more balloons than a rich kids party. replaced all pads as well. bled brakes per service manual just like every other vehicle but i did mine with a power bleeder(motive products). got a fall away pedal so after bleeding again i got the same result. im suspectin a couple of bleeders that gave me some problems along the way. truck did the same thing to me a few years ago so i just replaced the calipers altogether. hopefully these screws from the part store will fit
