Regearing comes up every few days in various posts, and 4.10's are on my eventual to-do list. But it's not a mod a shade tree mechanic or even most accomplished mechanics can do easily. Where did you get your regearing job done? I'd like to start a list of shops that have experience changing ring and pinion gears on Liberties, so when others want to do this mod in the future, they have some idea of where to go. Is there an average price for regearing? I'd be more interested in the 4.56's personally, but we'll see |

This is a good question. I've been quoted between $1500-$2000 per axle in the Philadelphia metro area. I would imagine it is less in the Midwest. |

The best quote I've found in Iowa was $1800. That involved me bringing all the parts needed. So if I ordered everything from JBA I'd be looking at about $2500 for front and rear. I've been looking hard for a near by 4 banger though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm being quoted $450-$500 locally per axel at a taxi cab repair shop, parts not included. Going to 4.10's when my black rock 17" wheels find their way home with 245/75R17's (31.7" versus the 255/70R17's at an "even" 31") Duratracs before summers out! Labor is cheaper than most here in Anchorage AK but the cost to ship things here is outrageous. $400-$800 to ship 5 tires and nearly that much for wheels as well. |

A) KJ B) 4.10 C) 245/75R16 D) Sixditch Motorsport, Lilburn, GA Comments: Front custom steel LP Dana 30 w/ Detroit Trutrac and Spicer 4.10 Ring & Pinion. Rear Corporate 8.25" w/ Detroit Locker and Nitro 4.10 Ring & Pinion. Initial build was for cost of parts (Jeep was supposed to be the demo vehicle for a tubular bumper project that never took off.) Rebuild of front (after blown OEM aluminum front IFS) with steel Dana 30 $1500 all in (parts, labor, gears, install kit, etc.) since the TruTrac was the only thing salvageable. |

3.54 manual (6spd) and not re-geared. Running 245/75R16. 1st gear became usable again. Me & the missus don't have any trouble picking a gear for the speed/power required. 3000rpm in 6th makes for brisk highway travel For used gears, the stock 4.10s can be very difficult to find. I was quoted $350 (front only) for the only set within 500km of me. 4.10 in 8.25" are virtually non-existent. 3.73 (both complete axles) I can find privately for <$200 anytime. |
