Post subject:  Alternators on Gassers?

So, I have a buddy with some odd electrical problems (mostly brake light bulbs and fuses with very short lives, dimming lights for no reason, etc.). I'm thinking either BCM grounding/short, battery, or the Alternator as the likely sources. He has a Renegade 3.7, though (and I've only ever worked on a CRD). Does the gasser alternator assembly have the same decoupler pulley as the CRD and are there any other noteworthy differences in the electrical setup between them? I haven't had a chance to dig into the problem yet, but want to prepare myself with as much info as possible for this weekend.

Here's a few pics of mine, if these help. Let me know if you want different ones!

His being a Rene though might have the higher capacity alternator, not sure if that makes a difference or not though.

Thanks. The housings are definitely different, but the stator size and output rating appear to be identical. None of the auto parts stores list a pulley on the notes like they do for the CRD...

Yes, the Rene has a higher output alternator, but no decoupler like on the CRD.

Not a great pic, but then engine bay of my '05 Rene:

EDIT: found a better pic

Thanks, all. Looks like it's even easier to get to than on the 2.8 and the serp belt looks easier to reach as well. Hopefully this'll solve my buddy's electrical issues.
