I own a 2006 Jeep liberty limited 4x4 3.7 I just put all new brakes rotors all the way around. I also put new E-Brake Shoes on. Well for some reason the ebrake still doesnt hold at all and there is a metal on metal rubbing coming from the back passenger side. (Maybe front not 100% sure) I have tried to adust them from the rear and still the same. Anyone have any idea what else it could be and what the metal on metal is? |

Did you replace the brake hardware when you changed the rotors? I rarely ever went to the trouble or expense of replacing the hardware when changing rotors, but when I replaced the rear rotors on my Liberty, one of the pins that goes through the backing plate, shoe and hold down clip broke the day after I replaced the parking brake shoes. I made an awful metal on metal racket..Twenty dollars later I was all good again...Also, make sure your parking brake shoes aren't adjusted to tight, and dragging....Your parking brake can be adjusted underneath the center console: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=19141 |
