Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location in a 04 KJ?

I was thinking in the back cargo compartment... any other suggestions?

What about up by the front seat so when your jeep lights on fire and you cant get to the rear hatch you can still grab it.

The front would make more sense than the back... Only place I could find that would work would be under or on the base of the drivers seat.

Another option would be getting a Smitty Built molle seat cover, getting a molle pouch, and sticking it in there.

Mine sits on the front of the passenger chair, not looking pretty but its very handy. The only other alternative I see would be on the front passenger window pillar, but that requires some mods and the design may not look very good.

If it's just sitting there, make sure to at least strap it down. The wife of one of my friends had a cooking pan in her front seat when she was rear-ended. It flew up and hit her in the face - broke her nose. Ouch.

I was looking around last night and it looks like one of those smaller units could fit under the drivers seat. It would be out of the way but you could position it so that it is easily accessible.

Lol, this looks to be a youtube moment even though is a bad experience I bet... strapping it may be a good idea, the extinguisher is on the floor, not on the seat, but at leaset on a roll over, knock on wood, it won't get in my head somehow.

A small kiddle multi-type rated unit fits perfectly to the outside of the driver's seat (below the seat adjustment controls). I hold mine in place with a velcro strap that is made to hold your pants leg from going into your chain while cycling. I pointed the business end at the back so there was no chance of bumping it while moving my feet around or fiddling with something on the seat or door.

put both of mine under the front seats occasionally put a much larger one in the cargo area but there's always two bottles under the front seats
make sure you don't hit any wires when tapping for the mounts inside or under the vehicle

Put mine between the drivers seat and door in the little "indention". Fires ruin stuff quick, and I want to be able to get to it as fast as I can. Not run to the back, open the hatch, them fumble around. Had this sweet looking roll bar mount in my yj, which was fine if the top was off. With the top on it required folding the seat up, and pulling a quick release pin. The one time I needed it, the fold and tumble didn't want to cooperate. LUCKILY, I just stopped at the store and was able to quickly put out the fire with a 2 liter of Coke. Also was lucky enough to not have any damage (besides my underwear). My Coke addiction saved the day...

For now I have mine under the drivers seat, and might mount it under the seat latch on the drivers seat.

If anyone has a picture of how this looks that would be great. It seems to fit perfectly into this area

Alright I found a good spot... inside the recess on the drivers door.

It doesn't rub my leg and doesn't interfere with anything, best yet the fire extinguisher is in a very easy to access location.
