I just lifted The KJ this weekend with 927/948 bilstein with top plates, extra rear ISO and terra flex and hockey puck bump stops. No clevis lift or jba a arms . I love the way it rides 10x better. My only issue is when I hit big bumps in the road it's like my front suspension is bottoming out and make a loud sound. I noticed this when I crossed over a bumpy intersection at a decent speed. Other wise it soaks up the small stuff like its nothing. I'm guessing that I'm having a Arm/spring contact when I hit the big bumps. I was figuring since I'm not as high as some of you I shouldn't have contact issues. I'm sitting at a little over 21.75 up front and 22 in the rear after alignment. My plan is to get a arms in the near future but trying to figure out the banging issue for the time being. Yes all my stuff is properly torqued and done correctly. Thanks |

Yes. I meant ome with bilstein. And yes I torqued what need to be torqued with full weight on it. I have no other issues except when I hit a big bump or drop off in the road. Other wise the suspension is super quiet. |

Shouldn't have any issues at that height with spring / UCA contact unless you are jumping over Prius' and landing hard. Can you get any sounds when jumping up and down on it in front/ plus are you sure its from the front? Did you reinstall the upper and lower isolators in front?? |

Tomm, no sounds after I fixed that issue I pm'ed you about. It makes the sounds as soon as the front hits a big bump. Rear is quiet. |

Yes I installed both upper and lower isolators in the front |

Tomm. I jumped up an down on the front end and could not get it to make any sounds. I weight 215 so it should have been enough to get it to make a sound. Still get that sound if I hit a big bump otherwise it's quiet and absorbs everything as it's suppose to do |

Do the dry steer test. Short and sweet version: have someone turn the wheel lock to lock(engine running) while you look at everything. Grab everything and feel for a clunk/pop. At random, have them suddenly let go of the wheel while they are doing it. Sometimes that sudden stop exaggerates the problem. Btw, I had that same problem, and it turned out my rack and inner tre's had more play than a $7 hooker. I got the noises fixed, it's the handling I'm still working on... |

If the sound is a rommmmmmp sort of creak it's a combo of the swaybar bushings and tight springs Clean the arm pockets and arms and put a thin coat of peanut butter or grease on the surfaces and get it to make the sound then see if the film has been disturbed The compression noise of new ft suspension is rather loud and the upward returns pretty violent till things break in |

I do not have any sounds or creeks other than the sound from the big bumps. I noticed that its when the spring is rebounding like when the you go over a speed bump if that makes sense. No sound on the initial compression but when the tire is meeting the other sided. It may be just still breaking in as I only have 200 miles in it. Its just I've never seen anyone else post about that sound. As I said before it is super quiet and soaks up the small bumps like its suppose to do. |

so its making the noise when the vehicle returns (sorta violently) to the upward full height position? is it a pop, or a solid sounding wham what im asking is the sound sorta dull, or does it have some crispness or sharpness to it if its a dullish boomish sound its probably the normal sound the new suspension makes when violently returning to full height due to the springs being so stiff , itll soften up eventually however, if its crisper sounding, pull your airbox out and retorque the 4 bolts on either side that bolt the top of the coil assemblys to the vehicle, and recheck the torque on swaybar links and tie rods if you havent, they may feel / look tight when the vehicle is sitting still but if they arent torqued correctly (too loose) they can move too much and bind and give a snappy pop or clunk when the suspension moves if you think the sounds on the compression side, can use a jack one wheel at a time (or a fork lift) and compress the suspension and see if you can see if somethings making contact somewhere , or can do the peanut butter / bearing grease / finger paint trick and potentially find contact points |

and btw, 215 isnt nearly enough to budge a fresh front suspension enough to replicate speed bump noises lol 927s are roughly what, 500lbs / inch , my memories off, but theyre somewhere between 425-500 lol i had to retorque the upper plate nuts after a few speed bumps once the plates settled a bit |

I had the same issue when my r&p and inner tre's were bad. I know I've already mentioned that, but the speed bump thing perfectly describes what mine did. Just a little slower and it was fine, even though hitting a speed bump at the speeds I heard the noise wasn't harsh a bit |
