Front driveshaft CV rebuild question(s)

I just finished removing and replacing my front driveshaft's rear (T-case side) CV with a kit from driveshaftparts. Overall, it was pretty straightforward. The old flanges had to be destroyed to be removed, but that's okay. No real gotchas, just lots of paper towels and some good cleaner to get all the old nastiness off before rebuild. Heres the questions:

- After packing the entire included packet of grease in the boot, on both sides of the bearings, and in the cap flange, I rotated the joint through its range a few times to get the balls and races lubed. Grease started "worming" out a small hole in the center of the cap flange. Is this normal, does it keep happening, and if not, how do you prevent it?
- The instructions don't mention tapping down the perimeter edge of the boot and cap flanges onto the joint body. Most people apparently do it, though. Is this simply to seal the grease in better or something more.
- When re-installing, should I use threadlocker on the 8mm bolts? The original bolts came out rather slowly with something like clear RTV gummed in them.. I don't want the bolts to seize in this exposed location, but I don't want them vibrating out either. Should I put a dab of RTV on them perhaps? Thoughts?

I read it....i packed the grease in and didnt notice worming. But that was a while ago. I didnt tape anything or use tread locker. Just torque them down to specs. But you can use blue locktite if you wanted to, but why waste it?

IF if wormed out, you may have had a little to much grease in the joint? And yes, I did tap down the edges of the flanges like the OEM ones were. I also sealed the flanges with black slilcone to prevent any grease leakage. I put the blue locktite on all the 8mm bolts...

lol, blue "usually" wont get ya in trouble.. now red on the other hand..

my dshaft bolts have always been so gunky and corroded they had their own version of loctite whether they needed it or not

friend of mine gooped red loctite on his valve cover bolts on his 4.0 in his wrangler, he had started the tear down himself when i was going to do the headjob and ports on his motor and he broke off all but one of his valve cover bolts trying to remove them, took me about 2 hours to drill out and retap every one of those bolt holes

The shaft is back in. The clamp isn't as tight as I'd like, but with the little extra grease under it, I think it'll be okay. Bolts are in and torqued. I just didn't bother cleaning the gummy goo off them....that and the torque should hold them fine. Now I need something actually requiring 4x4 to see if things are working properly
