Good point about the PCM.
You could replace the #6 coil and the ASD relay for under $50 (although I really have never heard of ASD circuit troubles with ANY KJ's thus far). In fact, maybe try to swap the ASD relay with say, the A/C relay for awhile just to rule it out. Plus I think if it were related to the ASD circuit you'd be having more pronounced and more frequent drivability troubles.
While you're in there changing the #6 coil, check all the wiring to/from it and check the condition of the #6 plug.
Most of the "possible causes" you listed can be triggered by a PCM going south. I certainly hope that isn't the issue, but doing the stuff we mentioned would be a good place to start.
