I have had a vibration and front end noise for a long time. I thought I would just wait and it would go so bad as to reveal itself, it's been 12,000 miles. So now I will start replacing parts, I removed the front dive shaft, and some of the vibration is gone but the noise and vibs are still there, I want to replace both front hubs, both side CV joints and front driveshaft rear CV joint. 2006 4x4 liberty CRD anyone have a quick source for the good parts, at reasonable prices, thanks

If you can since the front dshaft is still out, pull the pass cv and intermediate and plug the axle and drive it around the block. The intermediate has been a culprit of many persistent issues. Just a thought from someone who delt with the same deal

In other words, if it were mine, and i had to blindly throw parts at it without further investigation, I'd buy an intermediate, tommud gave me the info on where to get the intermediate because at the time most places didn't have it listed. As for cvs, remaned from napa because in almost every instance (on gassers) the new cvs were the wrong length and caused even bigger problems

When my intermediate went bad there was no noise but a constant vibration at highway speeds that with working the gas and changing the speed or load on the perceived drive line, i could get it to stop for a moment as the vibe became harmonized but it would quickly go back to churning. When i removed the pass cv i could not separate it from the intermediate so was unable to visually inspect the splines but there have been several who were able with similar symptoms and the splines were eat up. My best guess is so we're mine and they had fused with the splines in the cv. That being said my cvsc were very worn and making bell and crack sounds when in four low when turned about half way but the obvious culprit and following with others issues after replacing just cvs was that the intermediate is quite capable of causing the disturbance regardless of the condition of the cvs.

My advise is get the attention of the crd gurus of knowingnes and make sure you get the correct cvs and intermediate, hubs on the other hand are less touchy, but I'd stick with timken or skf

Removing the front dshaft may have just limited a path for the vibration to travel, there may be nothing wrong with it, for the sake of saving a few hundred may want to hold off on dshsft parts and see where the cv & intermediate gets you

It's frustrating. We know! But youre in the right place

I started looking around, the right side axel is toast and probably the intermediate shaft, so new ones are on the way, axle parts geek new $65, shaft new autoparts unlimited $110. I can't wait for the Liberty to be back in proper driving order.

I thought I'd mention, the Omid - Ada intermediate shaft can be had for $107 shipped from eBay(oconne offroad). The Omix part number is 16523.43, and is rebranded Spicer. They just half-assedly slapped a sticker over Spicer on the box. I went with Detroit/Dearborn axle(eBay) reman'd cv's, and haven't had any issues. Got both sides for $82 shipped.

I don't trust or shop ebay for important parts, too much BS and rip offs, the intermediate shaft from autoparts unlimited was a spicer, the new CV axel is from empire and looks good to me, is in and works fine
