Post subject:  small hole in right front brake caliper dust cover 2006 Jeep

On the 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD, I have a small hole in the right front brake caliper dust boot. How long before it causes me an issue?

I am going to put a little grease in the hole for now.

What is the best replacement caliper to buy? Part # 5066422AA

I was looking at Ac Delco and Mopar - https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carc ... ttype,1704 -

and Amazon - Crown Automotive 5066422AA Brake Caliper Assembly; Front Right; w/o Pads; Scratch Amazon - Crown calipers are made in China

As long as you don't drive in really wet or really dirty conditions, you could be fine for months. It's not a spinning part, but eventually, the caliper will start to move with more friction and eventually seize...

Any of the rebuild or caliper pine replacement kits should be fine. Go to a shop you trust and ask them which kit they'd recommend. The job of a rubber boot is not that hard.
