I have the axle separated from the hub, and the shaft, the service manual says to remove the clevis lower bolt, isn't the spring under tension? Do I need to get a spring compressor? The shaft stayed in the housing, how is it held in? And how do I get it out? Thanks, I've searched everywhere for the answers, here and on you tube any help would be appreciated |

The coilover will not come apart unless you take that top mounting nut off which requires complete removal anyways.Just pull both clevis bolts(top that clamps the coilover and the bottom that goes through a bushing on the LCA). That shaft is held in by a C-clip just like the CV axle is held on to that shaft. |

Pull......hard How do I get a hold of it to pull?, I'm thinking of welding on a nut or bolt to pull with anyone do this? I ended up with a large square washer on the adjustment screw of the vise gripes, locked the vice gripes on the half shaft, and hit the washer with a hammer. A fairly easy job needed 2 pullers one a 3 finger for the axle splines stuck in the hub and a puller to pop the lower ball joint, a 35 mm socket and a impact wrench and impact ratchet were a big help and time saver. Do it yourself and save a lot of money |
