I've had my Frankenlift (HD coils) for about three years now; most of that time has been with an ARB with a winch. For a while I had a Superwinch TS9000 (heavy) ; then I upgraded to a Warn M8000s. Even with the much lighter Warn my lift had sagged a bit. I just wrapped up a clevis lift. With the Frankenlift, plus 3/8" lift at the clevis, I'm sitting at 23 3/4" in front, from the axle to the fender flare. I have cut CV's so I don't think this much lift will be a problem for me. My CV's don't look to be at a very extreme angle. I haven't had the Jeep re-aligned yet, so an alignment may actually bring the current 23 3/4" down a hair....While I was doing the clevis lift I pulled the axles, and the intermediate shaft out; cleaned, inspected and greased all the splines, the actual inner CV, and the outer axle seals and bearings...Everything looks good...I took a SHORT test drive...No odd noises / complaining from the CV's... I know there are some here who are over 24" with 32" tires....I'm on 31x10.50 Duratracs, pounded pinch welds and "re-molded" fender well liners and my (front) tires were getting into the rear of the fender well before touching the bump stops when coming off of drop offs (just easin' down them, no Dukes of Hazzard stuff).... The little bit of extra lift seems to help with that...but I'd like to be able to come down the start of downhill sections of trails without my tires eatin' my fender well liners...Is there a way of extending my bump stops a little more? I've seen the bump stop extensions on the RRO upper control arms, and I've thought about making something like that to work on my JBA arms...I've also thought about hitting the junkyard and cutting the bump stop "cup" out of a wrecked Liberty, and welding them to my existing bump stop cups.... Any ideas? The little extra lift may be the solution alone, but any ideas are always appreciated...
