Can somebody please explain this to me?? Ironman 1.5 hd spring Plus three conduit nuts 1/4 inch top plate Daystar strut plate (spacer not installed) = 24 inches hub to flare. Is it because that heavy duty spring is spread out further now due to the daystar strut top?? I was at 21 before with the same setup. Now my cv is crying. |

Yep it's all due to the daystar top plate, scrape and go back to the OEM one or cut down the daystar poly spacer to match the top plate and install. |

That's with the winch and bumper on there... I don't get. Sunday I will take the extra conduit nuts and 1/4 top plate out. 24 - (1/4x2) - (3/8x2) should land me at 22.75 inches right? And that's in the safe zone for no cradle drop kj? |

The daystar poly isn't installed... I only used the extended strut mount. |

No it's sitting on blocks. I can't move it the cvs will die. I compressed the strut by jacking on the lca until it just came off the block. I got 24 inches |

Get rid of the daystar crap. Use factory upper mounts. start at 19"+2.25"+.5"+.75"=22.5 which would be a 3.5" lift. When you drive it and bonce it good it will drop some vs just letting it off the jackstands. My wifes sit at 24" then i pull it out of the driveway and it drops down to 23.25" after a few bumps. Those HD springs are pretty stiff when they dont have any load on them. |

K. I used just the daystar strut mount and the ironman coil and no top plate or conduit nuts. The driver side tire is on the ground been there all night and she is sitting at 22.25. I think I would be prudent to mention that the strut is rustys. |

Somehow with just the ironman spring and the new "long travel strut" the spring has opened up more... I dunno I just woke up and need to finish my coffee. But I will say this... The poly inserts for the daystar are in several pieces on the floor of my work room. |

So you still have the Daystar stuck in there? Going to cause issues. "Long travel" strut ??? |

K I am going to take a stab at this, post coffee (pot x2). I have a rustys strut. Designed for 2 inches of lift. Installed on the top of that strut is daystar's strut extension plate, all it is is a strut mount with a lowered mount point, that is supposed to offset strut travel when usin their spacer (which I'm not). Then I have my reg iso's . Then the ironman 1.5 hd spring. Somehow the strut is 2.5 inches taller than it was before, and the spring is uncoiling and taking up the slack and holdin my jeep at 22inches. Here's the deal, being as I squished the shiz out of this spring ten times this week I got a general feel for it's fully crushed and fully extended length. When I had ironman spring in the strut pre daystar plate, it was preloaded by the strut not allowing it to decompress all the way, and hence less lift. Post daystar plate, the spring decompressed an extra 2.5 inches and some how still holds te jeep up at 22 inches. Weird right? I am not making this crap up, it happened totally by accident, hence the I quit lol. Wondering if putting an even higher rate spring in this "frankenshock" would produce results of higher lift? The sprig rate now is 400lbs I believe? I dunno I got "heavy duty" from Jba. |

2 inch longer front shock? never heard of such a thing. Ironman are a bit longer but thats it . But coming from Rustys its hard to say what or how they advertise There is no way that a spring becomes longer no matter of the rating etc Do you still have the original top mounts? Hopefully you do and ditch those Daystar spacers, they are part of your problem |

One more time lol. Daystar spacers aren't installed. The upper daystar plate is. The plate lowers the mounting point of the shock, and the coil rides up around it. For some reason, my spring is able to hold my vehicle up. When I undo the upper a arm and let the suspension drop, the clevis bolt is just able to come out hassle free. When I reload ....... Forget it lol. I will post a vid with pics. We're going around the bend here. |

Totally understand that the daystar spacers are not in there, but you are still using the top mount, ditch it |

Easier said then done. Daystar QA must have had the day off lol... The studs were supposed to be a press fit, they ended up being a flop fit... So I welded them in. Rofl... Whoops. It's gotta stay for now. Gotta get something for my 250 dollars right? Anyways. I put the wheels on, after taking the clevis and 1/4 top plates out, and put it on the ground and it measured 22 inches. I thought I would just go with it and see what happens... I dropped the jeep a couple of times off the jack... Sagged down to 21... Wtf! Lol. Lol. Lol. I am gonna kick this jeep up in the booty. Now I gotta put the plate and clevis lift back in. Rrrrrrg. I will post pics later. I'm fried. (From the cold) |
