I am ordering a defender rack for my jeep. 4wheelparts say it needs to be the 48 x 48 rack. However I saw a post where tjkj2002 used the 48 x 60 rack. Can I use either or on my 07. I do not want to use crossbars as I want to keep it as low as possible. |

Yep, just went out and checked. 4' will work much better I think. The 5' will stick out in the front far beyond the rails. This rack does not need crossbars so it will sit nice and low. |

![]() ![]() ![]() The 48 x 48 was the right choice. very happy with this rack. Probably going to order steel rails though. |

Does anyone happen to know why the Defender rack won't fit on a 2005 Liberty Limited? The fitment charts say specifically not the Limited.... |

Mine is an 07 limited, bolted right on with no problem. Install kit Is optional, It is just 4 black u bolts for $27. If I knew that I would have used SS instead. Although the black matches better. |

Thanks y2k_TA, The site I saw said it's the 2003-2006 Liberty that says "(not limited)". I wonder if the roof rails changed... |

Maybe this pic will help, you can see how it bolts on with u bolts and if your rails are similar. I will be ditching stock rails soon for steel rails. Not sure how long the plastic ones are going to last with a load on them.
