Darby, U getting a lot of rubbing with those 255/70/16s? Honestly, I'm nervous about 245/75/16. My worn stock tires are awful close to rubbing on turns with spidertrax spacers. The lift seems to have moved the wheels forward just a touch. (2.5-3" lift). |

The lift seems to have moved the wheels forward just a touch. (2.5-3" lift). Spidertrax...or any spacers that move the wheel out a bunch...increase the arc the tire travels. Take a pencil and place in flat on a desk. Now put the middle of the pencil over a particular "dot" and slowly turn the pencil 90 degrees and mark where the end of the pencil is. Then move the pencil so that 3/4s of it is outside the "dot" and turn. Notice how much farther out the end of the pencil goes. Same length of pencil (like the width of a tire) but the arc travel has increased. People think moving a tire "out" will alleviate rubbing issues...but it exacerbates those issues inside the wheelwell when turning. I have no problems...but I only have a .21" spacer (Mr Gasket) which is needed because when you lift IFS it bring the tire/wheel combo inward and can rub the UCA. You probably need to ditch the huge spacers and see what happens. |
