so I installed a frankenlift at 100k miles and am at 160k miles.
I have had two establishments tell me that my front passenger strut is blown and the driver side is not far behind.
Anyone else have this issue?
I am not a rock crawler or do I go crazy if a wheel.
Does the franekenlift have a warranty associated?

So you have 60,000 miles on the front shocks and want to warranty them?
Buy new ones and keep on :JEEPIN:

So where do I purchase the strut?
Really trying to keep cost down but not quality.
I don't know which is best.

These are heavy vehicles. My CRD is 4480 (2520 front and 1960 rear). I know CRDs are a bit heavier than 3.7L...but all KJs are heavy and front heavy at that. Front struts that make it 50,000 are lucky.

Amazon for the bilstien struts run about $89-99

Average life for shocks is 50k,may get 25k or 150k you just don't know.

Easy way to tell if your shocks are "blown",look at them, see fluid all over then they are "blown".

I plan on rebuilding the suspension in any vehicle every 50,000 mi. Rear springs may last longer (not shocks). My front suspension is a Frankenlift installed around 100k or 105k mi. I plan to rebuild it at 150k. My wife drives like an old lady, and even she doesn't get more than 60k out of a suspension.

The rear suspension, especially the springs, could last a little longer.

Dare I mention??? Monroe May not be the "née plus ultra" of strut snobs, but they DO have a lifetime warranty.

Do they have a lifetime warranty when used with anything other than a factory suspension?

Do you honestly think the retailer where you'd return them to gives a d@mn?

Buy em at Oreilly, keep your receipt, walk in every year and they'll hand you a new set. No questions asked.

Worked that way for me with any decent supplier for the past 40 years.

But then,,,I do spend $1,500- $2,000 per month with em.

You just can't remove good parts and turn them in for new ones just because you have a lifetime warranty each year. The supplier may honor said warranty but risks the chance the company will deny it and then the supplier must cover the cost out of there profit. How long do you think suppliers will keep up that? Not long.

I know a little about warranty claims and it's getting stricter by the year.

My Monroes lasted 15K before blowing....Medium OME coils up front and semi regular offroad use. Got Bilstiens as replacements and they are going strong :JEEPIN:
Safe to say I learned my lesson and will stick to OME, Ironman, and Bilstiens

Guess that's a problem with forum posts. I should have qualified "yearly" with "if that's how often they develop problems".
