Got some new meats on the way. Was very happy with my Cooper AT3s in a 255/70/16 but decided to get a wee bit taller and more aggressive. The are not the olded STTs but the newer STT PROs

I've been eyeballing these for WEEKS!!! They make me want to just do burnouts on my Pro Comps so I can order these haha.

All reviews have been amazing. Only negative is the price.

Here's an application testing review:

Probably Cooper's best offering. Should be for the price.

As for the STT PROs...they feel very different on the road compared to my AT3s. Because the lugs (which are HUGE) are spaced so far apart, you definitely loose some on road traction/grip. I haven't found the right psi yet...but 40 psi was definitely way too squiggly. Tall tread blocks and tall sidewalls...I knew this would affect the ride. I am up to 70 psi right now and it is definitely better...but I am still going to adjust a bit. I don't expect these tires to handle like my 255/70/16 AT3s...but I do want them to be right. Going to go up 5 psi and see what gives.

Darby, your observations are spot on. The surest cure though is located between your ears. Put them at a comfortable riding 30-35 psi and drive em for a week. Your subconscious will "adjust" till it feels just right.

For that tire on your ride you are about 30 lbs too high
Have to remeber that new tires take a while to " break in"
they will feel a little squiggly right at first
70 PSI is way too much pressure unless you ton dually pickup is hauling a full size camper towing a large boat

My "adjust" and Tom's " break in" are pretty much the same.

I wouldn't even want to be in it at 70psi and load range E tires.

Try a chalk test with 70psi

I'd expect the center 3-4 inches to be wearing much faster

LT tires will take about 5-10 psi more than SL tires -

but I'd still expect something in the 30-40 psi range

E load tires are really, really great offroad when you can air down to 15 - soaks up the bumps - but not friendly on pavement.

Those really do look good.

Played with Air Pressures over the last few days. Finally got it to where these new tires feel pretty good on road. Now at 45psi and all seems well.
Will now watch the wear pattern... :CAMPING:
