I read a thread that said 4.0 pistons could be removed from the bottom of the block . I would like to know if this is possible on a 3.7 . The crankshaft would be removed . I know the 4.0 is an inline 6 & the 3.7 is a V6 .

I dont think you can do that.
You are better off just pulling the whole motor out. Makes crankshaft, piston, and rod removal a lot easier.

I am planning on pulling the engine either way . The whole top of the engine was very recently rebuilt & then a rod started knocking . I was hoping to replace the piston & rod from the bottom & installing a crank kit & not tearing the top of the engine apart again . I have been told the pistons won't come out the bottom & I've been told they will . Guess I'll find out when I get the engine out .
