So I have requested the build sheet from JEEP, haven't received it yet, but when I was wheeling this last weekend, I was in 2, 4full time, and 4LO at various times, I wasn't much in 4 part time.

When I got into some sand and started really needing all four wheels, it appeared from my observing club members that I did NOT have limited slip.

It appears that I have the Select Trac transfer case (noted above in the selection options I have) vs. command trac (which is the "other" option listed in my manual).

I have an 03 Liberty Limited with Select Trac. Would anyone know from this limited amount of information if I could possible have LSD and it just wasn't working OR

I was reading in my manual and it stated something about the limited slip engagin only in part time 4 hi? Also something about how to engage disengage via parking brake/ gas pedal use (not at the same time, but something about gas on, off, on to engage) hand brake to engage limited slip?
Other than the build sheet is there any way of knowing if I have the Track Loc?
Anyone know anything about this and if limited slip only works in one of the selectable options in the transfer case?

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!

Here is the build sheet info I just received:
Note: there is no mention of the Trac Loc (Which if I recall correctly is the LSD from the factory?)
Does full time mean that it should be limited slip? or could it still be an Open Diff?

The Trac-loc should work in all the transfer case ranges as it's not actually concerned with the transfer case in any way. it's in the rear axle, which is alway's powered. You could alway's jack up the rear end completely off the ground and spin the wheel on one side. If it spins opposite wheel other way, it's open. Mine's open and from what most people say, the Trac-loc is better than nothing, but not that great.

You'll have an LSD if your jeep has the Off-road group. HD cooling, Clutch fan, gas tank skid, transferase skid, front suspension skid, trak-loc which is the LSD, and HD suspension.

Corporate 8.25 Rear Axle is a corporate Chrysler OPEN differential and yours is a 3.73 Rear Axle Ratio, not a limited slip Trac-lock according to your build sheet!
The rear differential operation has no connection with the operational mode selected on the transfer case! :!:
Automatic single brake operation to enhance traction did not start until the 2006 models.

if you have a factory installed select trac (NV242) you could not get the limited slip rear axle.
if you have the command trac (NV231) you could option the limited slip rear axle.
