Post subject: | Radiator questions |
So i've finally gotten the standard leak in the top driver's side plastic tank on the radiator. everyone says MOPAR, MOPAR, MOPAR and i will go that way. unless anyone thinks that one of these will work. i started thinking about summit (used to live around the corner) and they have hundreds of different universal fit radiators. being that i have an '06 there is an external transmission cooler, so literally all we have are radiators correct? i found these two options http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hre-342d/overview/ and http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-380324/overview/ that while are not exactly the same size as OEM, should fit. the second once is about 1.75 inches wider, which could be dealt with in the mounts i believe, the radiator currently is a few inches inside of the mounts. the first one should fit overall except it is 3 inches deep which is a decent amount thicker than factory. Reasons i'm asking? 1) i have a coupon for 20 off 100 for summit, 2) i have a summit speed credit card and speed points to use and 3) why keep putting in a mopar one when they will eventually break again? i figured go all aluminum and hopefully keep that from happening again. post your thoughts/concerns please....need to order soon :/ |

No one has done it yet doing it the "summit way". I know of one guy that had one custom made up But the Mopar radiators has lasted justas long as the ones from autozone. So Im tagging along. |

flash7210 wrote: Dang it! That's awesome. I replaced mine a few years back with a Mopar and it's been good but cost about the same as that. Tried a Spectra Premium that wasn't so premium when the 12 year old factory rad went. Spectra lasted a few months. Then went with the Mopar. |

Here is what I'm wondering, good price with free shipping BUT Shipping: FREE Standard Shipping from outside US | See details International items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges. Item location: Zibo Shandong, China So wonder how much customs are going to want I once shipped some used books and a pair of used shoes to my wife , items were worth 75-80 bucks, cost over 175 shipping then she had to pay over 120 US dollars for customs She really missed those shoes ! ![]() |

Its looking (rough estimate with online calculators) to be between 330-350. I can get a summit radiator, thermostat/housing and new radiator hoses for under 300 shipped, not including my gift cards etc... May go the summit route, especially because of customer service (returns etc). Any comments on the actual specs of the radiators i posted? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
