My understanding is that the electric radiator fan on my 2005 Liberty CRD is supposed to operate any time the AC compressor is running. My fan does not run when the compressor is running, but I know that the fan works because it runs if I pull out either the low speed or high speed relays. Does the engine or ambient temperature need to be above a certain minimum in order for the cooling fan to run?

Does the AC actually work?
Compressor clicks on and blows cold air out the vents?

Things that I know effect electric fan operation.
1. AC system pressure when operating.
2. Engine coolant temperature.

Yes, the compressor clutch engages and the system blows cold air. It was only maybe 60 degrees out when I tested this so maybe the ambient air temp needs to be higher? The engine was fully warmed.

I think the fan turns on at 205 degrees controlled by the computers reading. Try unplugging the battery and draining the computer capacitors by holdinfmd brake pedal for 40 seconds or so and turning on and off the lights. Reseting the computer on my 04 fixed my e fan woes. Also I think Chrysler came out with a replacement fan relay, cant remember if its for after 04 libs or earlier. Its bigger with a heat sink. If you have two relays for fans on panel near battery this new relay wont be for you as with my 04
