Has anybody here had to replace the PCM (ECU) ? The wiring chafed, scraped, partially melted and obviously shorted out on the O2 sensor Bank 1/ Sensor 2. It appears to have taken out the O2 heater circuit at the PCM when that happened.

I just found out that I do and was told that it's a dealer-only thing, too, no aftermarket and they have to program it as well, so no local service shops involved. Ugh !

Mine's a 2004. I dread going to the dealer ! Some ebay sellers have PCMs they claim are Plug and Play. You provide your VIN and they flash the memory, there are two listed for $250 for remanufactured ones, and then others will take your old one for $100 less than that and ship it back to you after they re-program it.

Anybody with experience on this ?

Thanks,

~Paul H.
