Hi All. Please help me out. My Jeep is in for a clutch replacement (300 00 km) and my mechanic mentioned that the V-frame needs to be replaced. What is a V-frame? Where is the V-frame? What does the V-frame do?

My guess is that he is talking about what we call here the k-frame, which is the engine cradle, but you'll probably have to ask him. It's a separate frame the holds the engine mounts, and it bolts to the main jeep frame with four large bolts, basically. I think the front lower control arms also bolt into it.

That makes a lot more sense! We pay about $100 for one here in the US, and he's probably right, they don't last all that long, especially in wet (rusty) climates
