Hi guys,

Brand new member here, and brand new CRD owner. I'm hoping someone can offer some insight.

The vehicle is (as stated in the title) a 2005 Liberty CRD, with 210,000 miles. The thing runs pretty good, surprisingly powerful, and I get about 30mpg. The problem I'm having is that power seems to "trip" at random times, and I really do mean random. It doesn't seem to matter if you're driving on a bumpy road, highway, just started it up, heavy on the throttle, etc. It will trip off, and if you're at a high enough speed, it will "roll-start" immediately. In addition, there is a small draw on the battery when parked (1.4milliamps). I'm unsure if that is related to the problem or not.

I just read through the Noob Guide on here, which offered some AWESOME information. I think I will go through the steps outlined in the noob guide and see if that fixes it. I have already changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter. I plan to change out the fuel filter as soon as it is delivered. Until then, does anybody have any ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds familiar :) This is the post showing what I did, and why I think it's an electrical issue. I don't want you to redo anything I tried already.

So did you ever get to the bottom of it? I read through everything that ya did...good lord. I guess I'll start at changing the fuel filter like I said, bleeding it out real good, and then chasing wires.

I had a similar problem that escalated to completely dying (able to restart) culprit was crank sensor.
