I heard my fuel pump starting to whistle or winding some noise next to the fuel tank, my mechanic advised adding some ATF fluid to the fuel (Something i was strongly against)

A week later it stopped making that noise don't know if that was a quick fix or a ticking time bomb waiting to tick off any moment

Any advise would be great
